A $10.8 million highway bill signed by President Obama last month will keep the highway
trust fund afloat for the next ten months. But officials estimate the need will reach
$1 trillion to maintain the system through 2020. The question now is where is that
money going to come from? For more on the story we are joined on the KCBS ring central
news line by Pete Fielding. He’s a research professor at the School of Social Sciences
at UC Irvine.
