Low-income workers caught in middle of debate over minimum wage

"In general prices go up, people buy a little less and therefore firms use a little
less labor," said David Neumark of the Center for Economics & Public Policy at the
University of California, Irvine. "You are better off if you earn a higher wage, clearly,
but weigh that with the likelihood that your employer is going to make due with fewer
workers and you might be one of those workers."
