Sage Hill School and the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce are teaming to present
“The Physics of Wall Street” as part of the school’s Science Lecture Series. …The
event will be a panel discussion and audience Q&A on the applications of science to
understanding the stock market and investor behavior and strategies. The discussion
will be led by Dr. Edward O. Thorp, professor of mathematics and finance at UC Irvine.
Panelists will be Dr. Vineer Bhansali, managing director and portfolio manager at
PIMCO, and Dr. James Owen Weatherall, assistant professor of logic and philosophy
of science at UC Irvine.
