Types of Proposals Sometimes Funded:
- Extra money to compliment a UROP proposal that is not fully funded
- Funding for a SocSci student group offering a special event
- Funding for a graduate school application (i.e., 1-2 program applications - not all)
- Supplemental funding to travel and visit a graduate program (i.e., 1 campus visit)
- Attached your letter of invitation (required)
- Provide financial support documents from graduate program of interest (required)
- Supplemental funding for a study abroad research project, provide proof of primary funding (required)
- If requesting money for a research project provide faculty sponsor letter (required)
Types of Proposals Not Funded:
- Request for studying abroad
- If submitted, it must be a project or extra event the student is wanting to pursue
- Contact the Study Abroad Center or the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships for directives on funding these types of educational opportunities
- Funding for graduate school
- Work direct with the graduate school
- Full funding for a research project
- It is expected that the student will also apply to UROP and other research opportunities across campus
- If the proposal was not fully funded the extra cost can be requested and will be considered for funding

- Detailed budget (outline other funding resources)
- Detailed timeline
- Faculty Sponsored letter (if research funding requested)
- Completed form
Award Amount: $100 - $500
Requirements
- be a student majoring in the School of Social Sciences
- students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Deadline: Applications accepted year-round, including summer session
