Was Donald Trump's acceptance speech historic? Sort of, UCI expert says

Mark Petracca, chairman of UC Irvine’s Political Science Department, weighed in on the moment: “Was it a historic speech? Certainly, but not because of what Trump had to say as much as because of who Trump is. Trump is the first major party nominee for president who has never held elective or any other public office as a military officer or Cabinet secretary. That makes his nomination historic per se.”
