Allegretto’s views in favor of raising the minimum wage – which is $7.25 nationally,
higher in some cities and states – aligns with that of the funders for the recent
paper, Fast Food Forward, a New York body that advocates raising wages for fast-food
workers. …“I am skeptical of the source,” said David Neumark, an economist at the
University of California, Irvine, who has studied the effect of raising the minimum
wage. “These guys are clear advocates for higher minimum wages."
