The learning event (training week) entitled "The migratory corridor Ivory Coast-Burkina Faso: plural views on a common space constantly changing" is an international intellectual event that will bring together a network of researchers and international students to provide multidimensional analysis of the Burkinabe diaspora in Ivory Coast.

This intellectual event, funded by the Fund for North-South partnerships (KFPE) of the Swiss Academy of Sciences, is organized by a tri-national committee and is part of a political and institutional agenda especially favorable to the study of Ivorian-Burkinabe migration...Institutionally, this event is based on the historical share of the Swiss policy of development assistance that has made support for intellectual cooperation and capacity building program a strategic axis of its intervention in Cote d'Ivory. This orientation is reflected particularly in the historical creation of the Swiss Centre for Scientific Research (CSRS) in Abidjan and the more recent launch of the Strategic Support Programme for Scientific Research (PASRES) in 2007. The latter aims to promote the establishment of networks of international researchers, support the intellectual manifestations as well as inter-university agreements. Finally, this event is the first materialization of a recent agreement signed in December 2014 between the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the University Félix Houphouet-Boigny (UFHB) Abidjan who have agreed to strengthen scientific cooperation, exchange of teachers and students between the two institutions. In attendance: Ministry of Education, Embassy of Switzerland, Embassy of Burkina Faso, Orange, MTN, Ecobank, Telecommuncations regulators of Ivory Coast, National Institutes of Statistics for Ivory Coast and Burkino Faso.
