The Department of Logic & Philosophy of Science Colloquium Series presents

"Indefinite Extensibility"
with Gabriel Uzquiano, University of Southern California

Friday, October 26, 2012
3:00 p.m.
Social Science Tower, Room 777

When do some sets form another set? The indefinite extensibility of set is often motivated by difficulties answering this question in the face of the set-theoretic antinomies. But the very idea of indefinite extensibility appears to be fraught with difficulties of its own. In his talk, Uzquiano will look at some of these difficulties and explore the prospects of an alternative model of indefinite extensibility.
