Chancellor's Professor of Sociology and Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development, UCI
 
Nina Bandelj is a Chancellor's Professor of sociology, associate vice provost for faculty development, and co-director of the Center for Organizational Research at UCI. She studies the social bases of economic processes, dispelling the assumption that the economy runs solely on the supply and demand rationale. Her most recent book - Money Talks - dives deeply into the topic of money; what it is, and how we make sense of it in an age when new currencies like Bitcoin and Apply Pay are gaining ground. She earned her international baccalaureate (with distinction) in Ljubljana, Slovenia, her bachelor's in sociology at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, and her master's and Ph.D. in sociology at Princeton University. She joined the UCI faculty in 2003.

Brian Leach is an executive vice president at PIMCO. He is a credit strategist and serves as head of PIMCO’s Americas credit product strategy team. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2013, he worked at Northern Lights Capital Group and BlackRock. He holds an MBA in analytic finance and economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor's from Princeton University.
 
 
Jack Liebersohn
 
Jack Liebersohn
Assistant Professor of Economics, UCI
 
Jack Liebersohn is an assistant professor of economics at UC Irvine. He teaches classes on corporate finance and his research focuses on banking, real estate and household finance. Recently, he has studied the effects of competition in the mortgage market, the effects of remote work on housing affordability, and the role of FinTech lenders in the PPP program. He earned his bachelor's in economics and mathematics at Amherst College and spent three years working as a research assistant between the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. and Innovations for Poverty Action in New Delhi, India before heading to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he earned a Ph.D. in financial economics from the Sloan School of Management. He joined the UCI faculty in fall 2020 following two years as an assistant professor of finance at The Ohio State University.

Roger Nieves is a member of the Board for the Special Olympics for Southern California, where he serves as treasurer, member of the Executive Committee, and chair of the Finance Committee. Previously, Nieves served as a managing director for PIMCO. He earned his MBA at Washington University, St. Louis, master's at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and bachelor's in economics at UCI.

CEO/Founder, Validiti Technologies, Inc.
 
Peter Trepp is a tech entrepreneur and former investment banker with $1Bn in exits during his career. His current venture, Validiti, is a marketplace for secure consumer data that is working to disrupt the $200B/year personal data monetization market. The author of The New Rules of Consumer Privacy, which discusses how consumer-facing organizations can balance their customers' needs for privacy, security, and convenience, he's a recognized thought leader in tech and a frequent media contributor. Prior to founding Validiti, he served as the CEO of FaceFirst, a recognized leader in the global facial recognition market. He earned a bachelor's in economics at UC Irvine and MBA at the UCLA Anderson School.  He previously served as the president of the UCLA Anderson Alumni Association and is currently the chairman of the Board of Councilors in the UCI School of Social Sciences.
