Barbara Dosher has served as dean of the School of Social Sciences since 2002. During her 11-year tenure, she helped the undergraduate and graduate programs grow by 44 and 35 percent, respectively. She increased the number of degrees conferred by 47 percent and led the recruitment of 90 additional colleagues to the social sciences faculty. Under her leadership, extramural grant support for faculty research grew by more than 115 percent. She also garnered top honors, earning election to the National Academy of Sciences and campus recognition as Distinguished Professor. In July, she will be stepping down as dean and returning to the social sciences faculty as Distinguished Professor of cognitive sciences. We invite you to join us in celebrating her many accomplishments.
