SoCal business owner says Meta's AI security system incorrectly banned her store's Instagram account

Meta, the company that owns social media platforms Instagram and Facebook, has ramped up security efforts this year. … Megan Peters is an associate professor of cognitive science at UC Irvine. She says with the use of artificial intelligence continuing to grow, there are some issues when it comes to using the technology. “AI absolutely can make mistakes. It makes decisions in ways that are sometimes very aligned with the way humans make mistakes and sometimes surprise us that it makes decisions on the basis of information that humans would not consider at all,” says Peters.
