Cognitive scientists awarded $350,000 to study sensory measures
A team of UC Irvine cognitive scientists has received a $350,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to study sensory measures. Led by R. Duncan Luce, distinguished research professor of cognitive sciences and economics at UC Irvine and recipient of the 2003 National Medal of Science, researchers will conduct auditory and visual tests in an attempt to develop a standard system for measuring psychological sensations, such as a person's subjective sense of loudness and brightness, and the factors that affect them and their relationship. 3 UC Irvine political science alumni selected for competitive Capital Fellowship

UC Irvine political science alumni Vasudhsiri Torch Sathienmars, class of '06, Scott Dominic Seekatz, class of '07, and Aida Macedo De Partida, class of '07, have each been selected for 11 month appointments to the California Capital Fellows Program.
