Dear CIHA blog readers,

We have exciting news about the Critical Investigations into Humanitarianism in Africa (CIHA) blog! We have just moved to a new domain. We highly encourage you to subscribe to our new website:

While you're there, you can check out our two new blog posts. In the first, titled "What It Means to Care," Kathryn Mathers' insights and Laura Mitchell's introduction take our examination and reflections on Westerners' embrace of humanitarianism in important new directions. They follow previous posts on this topic, including Kathleen Sheldon's book review of Half the Sky, Duncan McNicholl's post on "Dignity in Development," and my film critique of When the Night Comes.

In the second post, "What's Wrong with the Kony 2012 Campaign," Adam Branch addresses the KONY 2012 campaign that is saturating social media as we speak. He discusses problematic aspects of Invisible Children and similar organizational efforts, while highlighting other factors that are contributing to the situation in and around Uganda. Adam concludes by providing alternative ways of moving forward. We look forward to your comments!

And don't forget to check out "In the News" for great pieces on mobile money, the ongoing Egyptian Revolution, and the Kony 2012 campaign and its critics.

With your help, we are striving to create a growing forum to address the many contours and perspectives within ongoing debates about humanitarianism in Africa. Please help us grow (we now have a readership of over 1000 people across Africa, North America, Europe, and parts of Asia) by sharing our site with interested friends and colleagues, and letting us know!
