The Center for the Study of Democracy presents the annual Jack W. Peltason Lecture featuring

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited. RSVPs are required in order to attend. To reserve your seat, please email sbrasier@uci.edu with your name, phone number and email address by May 1. Check in for the event will begin at 2:15 p.m. on May 6 outside of Crystal Cove Auditorium. Upon check in, you will be required to present matching identification (student ID or driver's license) to gain entry. There will be no re-entry allowed once you are admitted into the auditorium. Backpacks are discouraged and are subject to being searched.

Q&A cards will be available at the registration table at which time attendees may submit a question that may be presented to President Napolitano at the conclusion of her talk.

Civility guidelines:
No talking or interruptions during the lecture. No cell phone use, texting, laptops or videotaping the lecture. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and those impeding the president's ability to speak will be escorted from the auditorium.

Janet Napolitano is the University of California's 20th president. Appointed to her post in 2013, she leads a university system with 10 campuses, five medical centers, three affiliated national laboratories, and a statewide agriculture and natural resources program. The UC system has more than 234,000 students, about 208,000 faculty and staff, more than 1.6 million living alumni and an annual operating budget of more than $24 billion. The Peltason Lecture series was established in 1999 to honor Jack Peltason and his wife Suzanne. Peltason was the 16th president of the University of California (1992-95) and UCI's second chancellor (1984-92).
