I am
currently working as a post doc with Amy Criss at Syracuse University. In the
fall of 2012 I will be joining the faculty at Rutgers University as an assistant
professor in the Department of Psychology.
My research interests span a diverse
set of topics in cognitive science. While my work has been focused on episodic
and semantic memory, the overarching theme of my research is decision making in
naturalistic environments. Specifically, I focus on complex environments in
which people make real world decisions about situations where knowledge of the
environment can be brought to bear. In these environments, I apply
computational and Bayesian modeling to behavioral experiments. I explore how
people use information from these environments in retrieving information from
memory, and decision making in general. I am also interested in the idea of the
wisdom of crowds and have worked to explore how incorporating environmental
knowledge can improve Bayesian aggregation methods for complex information.
