I am interested in how language works, in particular I am interested in the structure of sentences across languages, and in how that structure receives a specific interpretation. I also look at the interaction between meaning (of sentences) and the discourse in which those sentences appear. I studied nominal phrases, and relative clauses. I am now working on the left periphery of the sentence, on sentential particles and on secondary predication.

I have been trained as a theoretical linguist, and I still define myself as such. But I have always been fascinated by the development of language in children. I am now working on experiments to determine how different types of relative clauses develop in children.
