A lecturer at UCI, Dr. Castellanos is the faculty supervisor
for the SSARC. Dr. Castellanos, affectionately known to her
students as "Dr. C.," recreated the SSARC under her theory
of the Five Pillars of Education. Each pillar -
research, leadership, practical experience, community
service, and academics - serves as the basis for all SSARC
programming. An alumna of UCI, she received her
masters training in counseling psychology and PhD in Higher
Education from Washington State University. She is
also the instructor for the
internship and field studies classes that are offered through the SSARC.

Currently completing his Masters degree in Child Development
and Social Psychology from the University of Chicago, Andrew
coordinates the activities and events of the SSARC.
He also serves as a lecturer for the department's
Professional Internship course and the director/advisor for
programs in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Community
Service and Leadership, and Transfer Students Opportunities.
Andrew also oversees the SSARC Leadership Development Series
and various other programs in the SSARC. A 2002 alumni of UCI, Andrew received his
bachelors in Psychology and Social Behavior and is currently
completing a
PhD program at Claremont Graduate University in Industrial
Organizational Psychology.
