RESOURCES

As the Social Science Honors Program aims to create a quality experience for your experience at UCI, it is critical that the student have access to resources and information that will facilitate the complete growth of a competitive scholar graduating with a UC degree. Specifically, SSHP fosters an environment that motivates Social Science students to pursue out of the classroom activities to explore research and investigation. In addition, the Coordinator provides an educational blueprint to expand your academic training and portfolio.

The Graduate School link provides various resources for students’ educational journey after UCI. The four specific areas under the link are provided to enhance students’ transition post the baccalaureate. In particular, the educational pillars file is a blueprint for your education. The mentorship file will give you direction on fostering a mentorship relationship. The last two categories provide specific instruction on how to prepare for your next educational step and the elements of a quality personal statement. It is highly encouraged that you print each of these pages for review and familiarization given their content and value. In addition, visit the Social Science Academic Resource Center (SST 370AC) to attend a workshop addressing each of these topics.

The Research Programs link highlights various other programs on and off campus that will provide you funding to support your research. Moreover, these programs help you further refine your research skills while occasionally opening graduate school opportunities across the nation. Explore the various links on (UROP, IDSURE) and off campus (CIC) to examine which program will help you further your education.
