The Social Science major with a specialization in Public and Community Service (PCS) is a degree that develops students’ understanding of the relationship between academic curriculum and community service. It promotes civic involvement, service and community activity. Offering a flexible curriculum to students, PCS encourages students to identify a cognate (specialty area) within their studies while still exposing them to the various social science disciplines. In addition, it guarantees students the educational gain of understanding the relationship between community and active research for practical application.
