In an appearance on “Between Two Ferns,” the Funny or Die Web comedy that sends up celebrity talk shows, President Obama plugged the Affordable Care Act, traded insults with host Zach Galifianakis and took another shot at getting younger Americans to sign up for health insurance…“In the old days…all you needed to do was go on one of the major networks or do a prime-time address,” said Matthew Beckmann, an associate professor of political science at UC Irvine. “Nowadays the networks are loath to give presidents time because it cuts into their profits, but even when they do give it people will flip to other channels. “So Obama is going to struggle to reach a broad demographic anyway, but when you're trying to reach young people you can't just rely on the standard ways,” he said.
