The Travel Team is UCI
MUN’s competitive debate team, which travels to both
domestic and international conferences each academic year.
Members are chosen based on their attendance of the MUN
class, previous MUN or debate experiences, as well as their
knowledge of global affairs and debate. Travel Team members
attend weekly meetings to refine their knowledge of
parliamentary procedure, sharpen their debate skills, and
discuss global affairs. The Travel Team experience gives
students the chance to gain a well-rounded knowledge of
global affairs through academic debates dedicated to finding
solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. At MUN
conferences, these debates take the form of simulations of
UN committees with both present and historical topics to
discuss. This unit has become a renowned and highly
accomplished part of MUN, winning various accolades at
conferences such as Harvard World MUN and attending
invigorating conferences ranging from Washington DC to the
Netherlands.
Last year, UCI MUN won two Best
Delegation awards at conferences in San Francisco and Los
Angeles. This year, Travel Team Co-directors Patrick Le and
Jeremy Moore are excited to lead the team to victory at
conferences hosted in Philadelphia, Berkeley, and Spain. UCI
MUN aims to take most creative, most intelligent, and most
diplomatic Anteaters to represent UCI at competitive
tournaments around the world, and thus far it has continued
to meet a high standard of excellence.

(Both days: 5:00-6:30pm, Student Center Aliso Beach Room A).
Tryout Process: Please come prepared
for a group debate on a topic to be presented at the tryout.
You may also be asked to give a short, one-minute speech on
any international issue.
