Following acceptance into the Law Forum (see prerequisites), students complete 7 courses to earn a certificate of program completion.

Four of these courses are Required Courses (enrollment priority available; see further details):

  • Advocacy

  • Law in the 21st Century

  • Law & Society (or qualifying legal research paper)

  • Law Journal Editor (or qualifying legal internship)

The remaining three upper division law courses can be selected from a broad list of Qualifying Electives (see details).

Students who have completed all 7 of these courses (or approved substitutes) receive a certificate of program completion at the annual Law Forum Spring Recognition Ceremony.  Many members of the UCI faculty, legal community and UCI alumni join us at the University Club each spring to honor our new certificants, and to congratulate the annual recipient of the Law Forum Outstanding Legal Scholar Award.
