UCI School of Social Sciences

Thank you!

Thank you so much for attending the inaugural Social Sciences Dean's Distinguished Lecture on January 25. For those who would like a reprise of the event, or to share it with others, the video of Dr. Mohamed El-Erian's lecture is now available online.

We would also like to take this opportunity to let you know about the exciting research and teaching taking place in the School of Social Sciences that is directly related to Dr. El-Erian's interdisciplinary approach to finance, markets and policy.

Established in 2011, the Center for Economics & Public Policy (CEPP) seeks to improve analysis, formulation and debate on economics-related public policy issues at the international, national, state and local levels.

The Institute for Money, Technology and Financial Inclusion was established in 2008 to support research on money and technology among the world's poorest people, and new technological infrastructures like mobile phone enabled financial services with the potential for alleviating poverty.

The Experimental Social Science Laboratory is a new computer facility dedicated to studies on individual and interactive decision making in the social sciences. ESSL is available for use by researchers interested in conducting computer-based studies of human behavior.

We hope you'll join us for our next big school event, the second lecture in our three-part Social Sciences Expert Series, "Digital Futures: What Comes After the Network Society?" on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in Social & Behavioral Sciences Gateway, Room 1517.
