Resources

Seed and Spot Grants

C-DASA offers small grants to support affiliates’ research. Seed grants support pilot investigations necessary to establish the viability of a line of research and to see a project to a fundable stage. Spot grants, available on short notice, primarily support the preparation of research proposals for external funding. For information, contact Judith Treas at jktreas@uci.edu.

Computing

New C-DASA servers support storage for large data sets, remote access for multiple users and classes, free access to a growing number of software programs, overnight file back-up, and a secure computing environment for sensitive data sets! C-DASA faculty affiliates and their graduate trainees can request server accounts through Marianne Bitler, Candice Odgers, Judy Treas or Greg Duncan. Andrew Noymer administers stat packages. Rock Hunter is the overall server administrator. To learn more about the command line Linux system used, try the occasional training workshops or the on-line Linux tutorials listed on the website below. Click here for more information.
